Twenty five years of Mimesis

That is what we celebrated in our November workshop, with gratitude and joy. We were amazed when we realized this summer, that a quarter century of our work is behind us. We started, in the summer of 1980, in New York, establishing an institute. We named it "Mimesis", in honor and in memory of the great scholar Erich Auerbach, who wrote about the transformation of myth into literature and play. Spontaneous play at that.

We never thought that this experiment would give us a life. The over the years we developed it, Sam brought his passion for myth, for alternative access to hermeneutic, religion and art. Evelyne brought her clinical training, her therapeutic skills, her psychic skills and her ability of healing. Together we developed our play over the years, it led us through many stages, bibliodrama, psychodrama, myth, cabbalah and symbol, the secrets of creativity and and of death

Hamburg opened the doors for us, Temple gave us the university, in her clinical work Evelyne found the stage for testing the process. We worked in the United States and in Germany, finally we centered our workshops in Dornach, Switzerland.

We are not people who love to celebrate success, but we thank the many who went with us on our journey, whom we could accompany on their ways and who blessed us with their presence and their trust. Some are no longer with us and are above us as the good spirits of support. We dedicate our workshop to all of them.
