Evelyne Rothchild Laeuchli und Samuel Laeuchli:
In the midst of all the many rational scenes of our lives there exists another realm. The book contains a series of strange stories. From the authors’ life in American cities, in Germany and Switzerland. Unpredictable, unexpected experiences, at time fantastic, often quite real.
One can explain the texts as chance events or synchronicity, with categories of parapsychology or esoteric tradition. Myth, Bible, fairy tale, poetry have known about them for a long time. Are they simply coincidences, or do we find in them a deeper sense?
The book goes back and forth between the stories and the attempts to say something about these stories. In discussing ways of dealing with them we are bound to confront personal, ethical and historical controversies.
The experiences are almost always unexpected. They cannot be programmed or manipulated. They are a gift, play, dream, metaphor. At times they are pure play, full of humor, at other times they are moving signs of grace and clarity and we are spellbound by a healing event.

The Mimesis Center in Münchenstein und München presents a new book:
Evelyne and Samuel Laeuchli:
This second volume continues and deepens the work on the Zauberbrücken of 2004. The authors deal with events that cannot be held by normal rational categories. Many people experience them and do not know what to say. Scientific, psychological or theological methods do not suffice, the rational answers do not hold.
The authors show possibilities of dealing with such scenes: theories are often excuses, scientific research cannot reproduce them. What opens them is the experience itself, retold, reconsidered. We are addressed, we enter them again. The tale, the enigma, the color, the gestalt. We are moved, we reject, we are amazed.
We learn to watch and to ask questions. When we read, participating or rejecting, we get involved in the tale. We start on a way of discovery. What helps us on this “Way” are visions of the poets, images from the unconscious, antique traditions. The book itself is a meditative and mythic process.
The authors live, after decades of intensive activities in the USA, in Münchenstein near Basel.
